George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin's wedding weekend in full swing

George Clooney wedding arrivals
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin arrived in Venice on Friday with wedding guests trickling in around them as rumors that they would marry on Saturday appeared to be coming true.
But here's the trick: The weekend wedding will likely be symbolic, with a civil ceremony making it official on Monday.
Clooney and his betrothed boarded a water taxi dubbed "Amore" with friends Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber for a trip down Venice's Grand Canal to the Hotel Cipriani on Venice's Giudecca Island.
Alamuddin wore a sharp black-and-white-striped Dolce & Gabbana dress and doffed her shoes at some point during the boat ride, if only to make it easier to disembark upon arrival at their destination.
Clooney's "Monuments Men" and "Ocean's" franchise costar Matt Damon and wife Luciana Barroso hopped a ride on a different vessel, with a friendly Damon waving to those who were watching them on the dock.
Also spotted en route to the festivities were Clooney cousin Miguel Ferrer and his producer wife Lori Weintraub, "Ocean's Thirteen" actress Ellen Barkin, musician pal Steve Lukather of Toto fame and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, because, of course. John Krasinski and Emily Blunt evaded photographers but were reportedly spotted by New York Daily Newsspies.
Alamuddin will be heading to the Aman Canal Grande hotel on Friday night to connect with eight of her closest longtime friends -- some from her university days at Oxford -- for a girls-only get-together, a source told E! News.
At the same time, Clooney reportedly will be hanging with his guy friends at the Hotel Cipriani, where the "Amore" had delivered him, Alamuddin and their pals at the end of their Grand Canal journey.
Then there's the wedding Saturday --expected to be held at the seven-star Canal Grande -- after which the couple will spend the night together, followed by a Sunday lunch with their guests before yet another party, E! said.
Former Rome Mayor Walter Veltroni, a Clooney pal since 2007, will officiate at the symbolic Saturday ceremony, Vogue reported. A five-course banquet by Italian chef Riccardo de Pra, a specialist in European and Asian cuisines, will cap the big night.
On Monday, the city will close pedestrian access to walkways on the Grand Canal accessing the 16th-century Cavalli Palace for at least two hours, with the city order citing "the George Clooney wedding."
The palace is regularly used for civil ceremonies, according to the Associated Press. A city official told the AP that such a closure has been done before and is aimed at preventing crowds from gathering and creating a safety risk.

Couple’s Wedding Day Saved by Strangers from Craigslist

ne Texas couple never imagined they’d find the answer to their wedding day prayers on Craigslist.
Less than two weeks before his wedding, Raul Martinez, 26, was laid off from his job as a boilermaker in the chemical plant industry.
“I knew I was going to be laid off, but not that soon,” Martinez told ABC News.
After paying bills, the couple only had a little bit of money left for last minute wedding expenses earlier this month.
“We used our last $10 on something we had been needing for the wedding that we were missing,” Martinez’ wife, Savannah Martinez, told ABC News.
Even after making and selling tamales and trying to find things to pawn, they still needed money for the groom’s shoes and the bride’s hair and nails, so they listed their bedroom furniture set and television on Craigslist for sale. They were able to sell their television, but couldn't find a buyer for their bedroom set.
Judy Wehrman, 39, who lives in nearby Missouri City, Texas, said she saw Raul Martinez’ listing every day while shopping for furniture on the site.
PHOTO: With Judy Wehrmans wedding gift, Raul and Savannah Martinez were able to enjoy their wedding day stress-free.
“I showed it to my husband and said, ‘Honey, take a look at this ad. I think this guy needs some help. He keeps dropping the price. He’s desperate,’” Wehrman told ABC News.
On Sept. 12, the day before their wedding, Raul Martinez still wasn't sure how he was going to get the money they needed.
“That Friday [my wife] was crying because her aunt and everybody was doing their nails, and I didn't have the money to pay for it,” Raul Martinez said. “I told her I would come up with the money, but I didn't know how I was going to come up with the money because no one was buying the furniture.”
Wehrman said her husband wasn't interested in the furniture but told his wife that they could just give him the money. So the night before the Martinez’ Sept. 13 wedding, Wehrman sent Raul Martinez a text message.
“I said, ‘It’s not really the furniture that we’re looking for, but I was wondering what you need the money for,'” Wehrman said. “I didn't know then that he had just lost his job.”
When she found out that Martinez needed the money for his wedding, Wehrman offered to give him money as a wedding gift if he came to her house.
Raul Martinez said he didn't respond to Wehrman's message until the next day because they were busy setting up the reception hall for their wedding.
“I said, ‘If you still want the gift, you have to come to my house,’” Wehrman said.
“I told my wife, ‘Let’s go!' She said, ‘What if they jack us?’ I said, ‘They know we don’t have money,’” laughed Raul Martinez.
Savannah Martinez said she was scared when she saw the messages, but went along with her husband to wait for Wehrman near her home the morning of their wedding day.
When Wehrman finally arrived, she gave the couple $200.
“I took the money. I said, 'Thank you, we appreciate it,’” Raul Martinez said. “My wife started crying, and she said, ‘Thank you.’”
With Wehrman's gift, Raul Martinez was able to pay for his shoes and for his wife to get her hair done. Wehrman declined an invitation to their wedding that evening.
“Our goal was just to help out,” Wehrman said. “There’s a lot of people that’s blessed that can help others.”
Martinez said he’s currently working little side jobs, and the couple is no longer selling their bedroom set.
“God bless the people that helped us. This comes to show there are good people out there whenever somebody is in need,” Raul Martinez said.
“It’s good to know there are good people out there to help.”

Kerry Katona gushes about husband George Kay as the first pictures of her dangerously low cut wedding dress are revealed

The pictures from inside Kerry Katona and George Kay's wedding have finally been revealed.
In this week's OK! magazine, the 34-year-old bride shows off her gown for the first time - as well as her new husband's smart suit and what her five children wore on their big day.
Her dress will no doubt set tongues wagging when fans see it. Kerry opted for a dangerously low cut bridal gown which showed off her ample cleavage when she exchanged vows with George at Tortworth Court Hotel in Gloucestershire.
Finally: The first pictures of Kerry Katona and George Kay's wedding have been revealed
Finally: The first pictures of Kerry Katona and George Kay's wedding have been revealed
The bride wore her blonde hair tied back perfectly with an elegant long veil.
When it came to her face, the Atomic Kitten star opted for a natural look, which worked perfectly for the special occasion.
Meanwhile, the star’s handsome husband George was dressed in a dapper navy suit, which he teamed with a white shirt and cream tie.
Kerry's son Max, from her previous relationship with ex-husband Mark Croft, was the couple’s page boy and adorably wore an identical suit to George.
The six-year-old also had the honour of walking his mother down the aisle.
Max's big sister seven-year-old Heidi was flower girl and sported a gorgeous white dress and floral head piece for the occasion.
Kerry's eldest children Molly, 14, and Lilly, 11, from her relationship with her first husband Brian McFadden, were also bridesmaids.
The girls looked all grown up in matching dark grey halterneck dresses with their blonde locks pushed gently to one side.
Naturally, Kerry and George didn't leave out their first child together, five-month-old Dylan-Jorge either. The teeny tot watched the ceremony from her pram and looked like a cherub in her frilly white dress. She also joined the family for photographs afterwards.
The couple initially kept the details of their nuptials secret.
However, after scooping a lucrative magazine deal, Kerry sounded ecstatic about sharing every part of her big day with fans.
'Can't wait to get OK! magazine and let the world see how happy my @mrgsjkKay makes me and the kids xxxxxx,' she tweeted.
To which, George sweetly responded: '@KerryKatona7 @OK_Magazine you & the kids make me complete xxx.'
Despite remaining tight-lipped over specifics, both Kerry and George made no secret they were gearing up for their big day on Twitter in the days leading up to the ceremony.
Following the death of her grandmother earlier this year, Kerry wrote: 'Wishing so much my nan was gonna be here with me this weekend!! I love you nan! Always kept me grounded! And I shall always be grounded.'
While on Saturday, she added: 'Omg wide awake... Can't get back to sleep! Need my beauty sleep must count sheep!'
George also couldn't contain his excitement on the social networking site, tweeting: 'KerryKatona7 can't believe how quick it's come round.. Love you so much, going to be the proudest day of my life xxxx.'
Despite the happy occasion, the couple's choice of venue raised some eyebrows after it emerged the hotel is next door to an open jail.
Leyhill Prison focuses on preparing 'low-risk' offenders for release, with previous inmates including former EastEnders legend Leslie Grantham, who served out the last months of his murder sentence there in the 1970s.
Kerry and George have been preparing for their wedding day for several months, with both of them going on strict diets and jetting off to Cape Verde last week to ensure they had a healthy glow.
Reports suggest the pre-wedding break was instead of a lavish honeymoon due to Kerry's financial issues following two bankruptcies.
But despite money being an issue at the moment, the pair are eager to have another child.
Speaking to OK! over the summer, the singer said: 'We both want them close in age so we'll have a cheeky try for number six on our honeymoon.'
Kerry has been married twice before: to Brian McFadden between 2002 and 2006 and Mark Croft between 2007 and 2011.
She has been dating George since 2012.
This week's OK! magazine is out on Tuesday.

Specifically, the couple registered for a Coleman stainless steel cooler to take with them on their lengthy hikes around their future home, Los Angeles.
They also asked for close friends and family attending the nuptials for a GSI Outdoors Pinnacle base camper cooking set, along with flashlights, a hammock to snuggle up in between a pair of trees they stumble across with a spectacular view, a couples' sleeping bag, headlamp, and food container.
And along with their hiking and camping must-haves, the duo asked for a variety of flatware, ovenware, cooking utensils and an assortment of items that are absolutely necessary to start a family kitchen.
E! previously revealed the couple's wedding invite, which explained to guests that the ceremony would be followed by "feasting, frolicking, dancing, embracing, toasting, laughing, photographing, and rejoicing."
Back in March, after confirming that he had popped the big question to his ladylove, Jeremy posted the following message on Instagram:
"January 16th, 2010 I met Audrey. January 17th, 2010, I was in love. August 15th, 2011 asked her out," the caption reads.

Meanwhile, Audrey shared the happy news on her Instagram along with a pic of her sparkly new diamond ring.

Lauren Conrad & William Tell Married

Fighting back tears, William Tell recited his vows to beautiful bride, Lauren Conrad, on September 13. The reality star married the love of her life at a California vineyard against a backdrop of olive trees and teardrop chandeliers — a dream wedding indeed!
After almost a year of planning, Lauren Conrad, 28 and William Tell, 34, tied the knot during a very special evening! The theme of the wedding was “whimsical” and with homemade apple pies and sweet pea flower arrangements, it was just that! See the first wedding pics here!

With Pintrest ideas and dream boards in hand, Lauren Conrad was prepared and excited to plan the wedding she had always wished for. Her wedding planner,Cassandra Herchenfeld, had other plans though!
Cassandra convinced the bride-to-be to forgo some of her “hands-on” ideas in order to enjoy what truly matters. “It’s important to just enjoy the day and what it represents: my excitement to marry William!” LC told US Weekly.
Lauren also gave up on her idea of having a destination wedding to better accommodate her large guest list. The couple set out to find the perfect location and decided on beautiful and rustic vineyard in Santa Ynez, California. “We wanted somewhere that felt remote, but didn’t require anybody to get on a plane,” Lauren said.
As friends and family arrived at the venue, they were handed their choice of specialty cocktails. After settling in, the ceremony began, which was officiated by a good friend of the grooms, Casey Scharetg. “It was really important that the person who officiated is somebody we knew really well,” William told Us.
Dancing The Night Away
After the sentimental and teary-eyed ceremony, guests hit the dance floor and grooved to the music of Elan Artists’ Ground Control, a Motown band that William picked out himself.
At 10 PM, the band was forced to power down due to a local noise ordinance, but that sure did not stop the guests from partying! Dancing to music from an iPod, guests continued to have a blast past midnight!

Big wedding style on a real-world budget

Cream cheese frosting or fondant? Classic vanilla cake or coffee with salted caramel filling? Fresh flowers to decorate your towering tiers, or delicate details made from sugar paste? You want it alla Saturday ceremony, hotel reception, gorgeous gown, full wedding party, flowers, cake and limo – but your budget isn’t boundless. You also don’t have the time or interest for DIY. No need to worry. Here are six less-than-obvious but totally doable ways to trim your Big-Day tab.
Hire a professional
It may sound funny to recommend spending money to save money, but a professional wedding planner has the time and means to find top-notch vendors for any budget. For example, an established coordinator can hook you up with a photographer who’s trustworthy but charges less than $1,000, or connect you with a fantastic but lesser-known catering company. Even better? You won’t have to worry about any of the details on your wedding day.
Downsize the music
Ceremony music is often more expensive then people expect, said Wendi Hroncich, a wedding planner and founder of Seattle-based Ethereal Events. To keep the elegant or personal feel of live musicians, skip the string quartet in favor of a duo or a single player.
Skip the favors
“Omitting the favors can easily save you at least $200, and no one really misses them,” said Sarah Trotter, owner of Lasting Impressions Weddings and Event Coordination. If, however, it is really important to you to provide an extra treat for your guests, Trotter suggests going with a multi-use option, such as using personalized gourmet candy bars or cookies for the escort cards or place cards.
Take advantage of larger tables
If your venue has them available, request tables of 10 versus tables of eight, advised Trotter. If you have to pay for rentals, using less tables (and, thus, linens) will clearly save you money, but either way you’ll also end up needing fewer centerpieces.
Select smaller centerpieces
Smaller centerpieces will save you money both in terms of product and the amount of time it takes for the florist to assemble them. Instead of giant sculptures, opt for a selection of three to four vases each containing a single flower or different compact arrangements, said Trotter. It’s more modern, it enables your guests to actually see each other across the table, and you could have people take them home as a party favor.
Make the tabletop pop

If you’re concerned that scaled-down centerpieces are too minimalist for your event space, try pairing them with a brightly-hued tablecloth, suggested Hroncich. “Specialty linens only cost between $15 to $40, versus the $125-plus you’d have to spend on an elaborate floral arrangement.” Colored linens are also a great way to showcase non-traditional centerpieces, such as candelabras or hurricanes, which, as an added bonus, are less expensive than flowers as well as reusable.

Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt's Wedding Gifts Include New Paintings

Wedding presents for Mr. and Mrs. Jolie-Pitt! A source tells Us Weekly that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie received a lot of new artwork as congratulatory gifts from friends after the couple married in a top-secret ceremony last month.
Some of the gifts sent to the newlyweds will help spruce up the walls and halls of their 1,200-acre Southern France estate, Chateau Miraval, where they wed. "They are building a large art collection at Miraval," the source tells Us.
To congratulate the parents of six and help out with their massive interior design project, a close friend of Pitt's gifted original paintings by British urban artist Dom Pattinson. (No relation to that other Pattinson, Robert.)
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
The prints which are from Pattinson's "Hope" collection feature a young girl wearing a raincoat and holding the stem of a specific-colored flower. According to Urban Art experts Unlawful Art, the painting represent looking ahead to one's future rather than focusing on the past.
Pattinson told Unlawful Art that the little girl represents innocence, while her raincoat protects her from the occasional havoc of life. Meanwhile, the flower (available in the colors red, yellow, purple, and pink) stands for love, peace, and acceptance. The artist said his work was created from "particular moment in my life, but it allows the viewer to acknowledge something very personal to themselves."
The source adds that the newlyweds also received a giant elephant statue, though the sender remains unknown.
After nine years together, Jolie, 39, and Pitt, 50, finally tied the knot on Aug. 23. After their ceremony, the family set out for Malta, where the A-listers are filming their new movie, By the Sea. As reported by Us Weekly, the wedding gifts followed the couple to the destination. A Malta source told Us that one room in the villas where they're staying was devoted to housing the dozens of presents sent to the couple.
As for newlywed life? Brangelina told Hello! magazine, "It's a wonderful feeling to be married."

Jessica Simpson Shares Beautiful Family Portrait From Wedding Day
Okay, confession — I am totally obsessed with this new photo from Jessica and Eric’s wedding on July 5.
In the photo, Jessica and Eric share a sweet kiss as the beautiful Maxwell stands in front of them holding one of each of their hands. In Eric’s arms is their 1-year-old, Ace, looking cuter than ever in a dark yellow bow tie.
In a guest blog written exclusively forGlamour magazine, the second-time bride shares five vows she has made for herself and her marriage to Eric.
“Every step I’ve taken up until this point has taught me something. Every decision I’ve made has brought me here. When I reflect on my life, my beliefs, and my experiences, I gain a perspective that connects me more deeply to myself, my friends, and my family,” Jessica wrote in her introduction.
The bride continued her blog by listing the five different vows she made, includinghonoring herself, letting her groom love all of her, investing in her own “me” time, enjoying small indulgences, and honoring her support system — namely, her family and the friends she’s had since she was a young girl in Texas.
One of the most powerful statements Jessica made in her is when she opens up about her struggle with flip-flopping weight gain, specifically throughout her first pregnancy, and how her husband, Eric, stood by her no matter what she looked like.
“Eric has seen me at every size, and he loves me no matter what,” the grateful wife wrote. “Eric was so supportive and challenged me to accept my insecurities and focus on what truly matters. I feel stronger than ever, and Eric’s unconditional love has been a reminder of the love I should give myself.”

Angelina Jolie's Wedding Dress Revealed With a Surprise From Her Kids

Feeling blue about the three-day holiday being over? Well I have something to cheer you up. AT LAST! We have photos and details about Angelina Jolie's wedding dress. Friends of the bride revealed last week that it was long and white and "very Angie." Well, here's how Angie it was. Atelier Versace designed the dress in collaboration with her kids. Drawings by the Jolie-Pitt children decorated Jolie's gown! Can you just (SIGH!) -- don't you just love that?
When I first heard the news about the kids' drawings in the gown, I thought someone was joking. But nope. Versace designer Luigi Massi sewed the designs by the children into the dress and veil. "Luigi is like family to me and I couldn't imagine anyone else making this dress," Jolie told People magazine. "He knows and cares for the children and it was great fun putting it together."
We knew that the Jolie-Pitt children were involved with the wedding, but this is incredible. What a fun and creative idea! They must have loved contributing to their mother's wedding day this way. Why NOT wear a gown decorated with your children's drawings?
Jolie looks gorgeous no matter what she's wearing, but I think this gown has to be her most beautiful look ever. She's wearing the love of her family.
angelina jolie wedding dress
Leave it to Jolie to find a way to be both daring and kid-friendly at the same time. That's so her.
Anyway! HELLO! magazine in the UK and People magazine here in the US have all the wedding details. Apparently Brad just wore a suit out of his closet and borrowed a tie from Maddox because he forgot to pack one. Something borrowed?
"It was important to us that the day was relaxed and full of laughter," Pitt told People. "It was such a special day to share with our children and a very happy time for our family."
